Daniel Duffy

DanDuffyDaniel Duffy serves as Director of Bands at Waukesha West High School, and he is the Music Director of the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra Philharmonia. His educational background includes a Master’s Degree in Conducting from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from The Ohio State University.  His principal conducting teachers include Eugene Corporon and Craig Kirchhoff, and he received additional instruction from Frank Battisti, Donald Hunsberger, H. Robert Reynolds, and Jack Stamp.  Prior to arriving in Waukesha, Mr. Duffy spent the 2000 academic year as Associate Director of Bands at Kansas State University, where he was Conductor of the K-State Concert Band, Assistant Director of the 300-member Pride of Wildcat Land Marching Band, and taught survey courses in American Music.  From 1985 – 2000 Mr. Duffy was music director at high schools in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Sandusky, Ohio, and Rice Lake, Wisconsin, and he was a graduate conducting associate at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music

Mr. Duffy’s ensembles have received critical acclaim at regional and national performance events since 1985.  Ensembles under his direction have been selected to perform at three WMEA State Music Conferences, eight NBA-WC State Conventions, and four NFL half-time shows, and he has coordinated performance tours in New Orleans, Dallas, St. Louis, Orlando, Washington DC, Boston, and New York City.  Passionate about the achievement of excellence through music performance, Mr. Duffy served on the Board of Directors of the National Band Association-Wisconsin Chapter where he was the Wisconsin All-State Band Coordinator, he has served as percussion section coach of the Wisconsin State Honors Program, he is the horn instructor for the Arrowhead summer music program, and he is an Assistant Conductor with the MYSO Summer Wind Ensemble.  When not pursuing musical endeavors, Mr. Duffy and his wife Christine can be found walking the lakefront, cruising the Milwaukee River, or enjoying a boat ride on Pewaukee Lake.

Kali Senger

Kali Senger graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of the Arts degree in Music Education from the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater in 2014. She directs the Blue Concert Band, Symphonic Winds and Percussion, and the Cadets of Waukesha West Marching Band at Waukesha West High School. Ms. Senger also assists with the sixth grade beginner band and orchestra students at Les Paul Middle School, Central Campus.

Ms. Senger is always looking for opportunities to improve her teaching as well as performing skills. She has been spending her summers with the Kilties Drum and Bugle Corps since 2009 as a color guard member, drum major, and as a member of the brass and visual staff. Ms. Senger is currently an oboist in the Knightwind Ensemble in Milwaukee, and she maintains a private music studio where she works one-on-one with students looking for additional help on mastering their instrument and learning the art of making oboe reeds.

Ms. Senger is excited to be a part of the School District of Waukesha and looks forward to working with a fantastic group of students and teachers.
