Kali Granzow

Kali Granzow is the Director of Bands for Waukesha West High School. Before being named the Director of Bands she spent five years as the Assistant Band Director at West High School and assisted with the sixth grade beginner band and orchestra students at Les Paul Middle School, Central Campus. Mrs. Granzow conducts the blue and silver concert bands, morning jazz, wind ensemble, and The Cadets of Waukesha West Marching Band.

Mrs. Granzow graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of the Arts degree in Music Education from the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater in 2014. In 2019 she completed her masters degree at VanderCook College of Music in Chicago, graduating with high honors and completing a research-based masters thesis on burnout in high school band directors.

Outside of Waukesha West, Mrs. Granzow has taught and performed with a number of professional organizations. For 6 years, she was a member of the Kilties Drum and Bugle Corps. She performed as a color guard member and drum major, and taught for 2 years as a member of the brass and visual staff. Mrs. Granzow is currently a part of the Waukesha Area Symphonic Band where she plays oboe. She also maintains a private lesson studio where she works one-on-one with students looking for additional help on mastering their instrument and learning the art of making oboe reeds.

In her free time, Mrs. Granzow likes to enjoy the outdoors with her husband, Gage, their son, Oliver, and their two dogs, Hudson and Arya. She also enjoys collecting and learning new instruments like the banjo and didgeridoo. Mrs. Granzow is a deeply nerdy human who cannot wait to share her neardiness and passion for music with her students at Waukesha West!
