Waukesha West Bands Update
4/28/23
This weekend Waukesha West Bands has two significant events. On Saturday, April 29th, the WSMA State Solo and Ensembles are held at the University of Whitewater. Use this link for general information and the entire schedule: UW-Whitewater: State Solo and Ensemble.
The schedule for Waukesha West students can be accessed HERE! Please plan ahead. You will need to supply your own transportation to and from UW-W.
On Sunday, April 30th, the marching band holds their Marching Band Mini-Camp at Waukesha West High School from 1:30pm-5:30pm. At 5:30pm, there is a mandatory parent/ family meeting in the Waukesha West auditorium. If you don’t have the performance calendar and need some help staying ahead of the schedule use this link Performance Calendar (linked HERE).
Here is the schedule for Sunday April 30th:
- 1:30-3:30 – All new marchers (8th grade and add-ons) arrive and work with Mr. Davison along wiht Color Guard and Percussionists*Color Guard arrive – working with coaches
- 3:30-4:30 – All returning marchers arrive, begin work in sectionals
- 4:30-5:30 – All Winds in auditorium for music rehearsal!
- 5:30 – all parents/family meeting to discuss commitment forms!

Hey Waukesha West Band and family, we have a delicious way to raise money for the Waukesha West Bands. This Tuesday evening, 3/14/23, Buddy’s Burgers and Custard donates a portion of food sales to our band. This is a fantastic way to raise money for our students and take a night off from making dinner during the week.
Buddy’s Burgers and Custard is located at 1345 S. West Avenue in Waukesha. It is in the old Murph’s building.

After dealing with ice, sleet, snow, and wind this week, how about ending it with dinner, fun, and a good cause: help raise money for the talented music students at Waukesha West High School?
The evening starts at 6pm at the Delafield Brewhaus with a performance by our Jazz students. This is followed by dinner (a little after 7:15pm), drinks with auction and raffle items to bid on. We still have seats available. You can claim your spot using this link. Be aware that you need to register before 6pm Friday.
We are also looking for wine donations. Donate bottles of wine with a value of $10 or more for our Wine and Spirit raffle. You can bring bottles to Delafield Brewhaus and hand them over when you check in. This raffle guarantees everyone wins a bottle.
We are not only looking for diners but the need volunteers exists for Friday night to be a success! If you have the time, sign up for one responsibility, and then enjoy the rest of the night. Here is a list of the needs and the time.
End the week on a positive, or start the weekend on a positive: celebrate with good music, food, drinks and friends this Friday evening at the Delafield Brewhaus – funds raised support our music students and programs at Waukesha West High School!

Band families and friends of the Waukesha West Bands,
We are only 2 weeks away from All That Jazz!! The West Band Boosters have hosted this event for almost 2 decades. Proceeds are ALL FOR THE KIDS and the amazing West Band Program!!
Tables are set and we are ready for a fun night!
The night opens with a performance by the TALENTED Jazz Ensemble 1 at 6:30pm!

All That Jazz Annual Dinner and Auction

We are almost two weeks away from a fun night with friends and families of the Waukesha West Bands. All That Jazz Dinner is Friday February 24, 2023 at the Delafield Brewhaus. This is an exciting fundraiser for our students that includes a performance from our Jazz musicians, dinner, drinks and several ways to donate money through raffles and auctions. Everyone is invited to attend and bring guests, if you like.
Securing your seat(s) is simple and can be done online. For this event, you must purchase your ticket in advance. You cannot show up at the door without a ticket, unfortunately. Your very affordable $45.00 fee includes entry, dinner and a performance by our very talented Jazz musicians. You don’t want to miss that. The evening begins 6pm with the performance scheduled for 6:30pm. Here is the evening agenda.

Dinner is always excellent and you have direct ability to support our Waukesha West students by purchasing raffle tickets and bidding on auction items. If you cannot make it on February 24th, please consider donating an auction item by February 17th. Your donations are greatly appreciated and will have a positive impact!

All That Jazz Dinner
2nd Annual Festival of Bands
1/20/23
The Second Annual Festival of Bands takes place Saturday January 20, 2023. This performance features bands students from Les Paul Middle School and Waukesha West High School. The concert is at the Waukesha West Field House and begins at 1:00pm.
We anticipate a large audience as we feature musicians across two schools and seven grades.
Festival of Band Agenda:
8:30-9:30am: Setup in field house with high school volunteers, parents, and staff
9:30am: All high school students arrive

High school students may arrive at the auditorium doors. Please get your music and instrument (leave your case in your band locker) and quietly head to the field house. ***Only high school students should enter the building by the music wing. Middle school students should only enter and exit through the pool-side doors. See map***
10am: High School dress rehearsal
10:45am: Middle School performers arrive

Middle school students need to arrive by pool doors. Students will be able to put their coats, and instrument cases in the room across the hall from the field house. Trends room on map***
11:15am: Full Ensemble dress rehearsal

Performers should listen carefully to directions from directors during this time! This will be our one and only combined band opportunity to practice the music.
11:45am: Middle School dress rehearsal & High School pizza lunch!
12:15-12:45 pm: Middle School pizza lunch!

Carefully eat lunch so as to not spill on your performance clothes. Clean up, then return to the Field House for your concert!
12:45pm: Middle School clean up, parent volunteers clean up lunch, final setup
12:45pm: Jazz 2 Performs pre-concert music
