Fox River Invitational Volunteer Information

Join us in making this event a success.  Signup forms for these areas will be available at the August parent meeting.

Program Ads

Help with selling ads for the Fox River Invitational program.  We produce a very nice full size glossy program with information about each marching band program, and ads from local businesses. If you know of any local businesses who would consider buying an ad in our program, please let us know. We also sell “happy ads”, ads that go out to your favorite marcher or color guard member.

A few weeks before the Invitational, help distribute printed Fox River Invitational Flyers to all the elementary and middle schools in Waukesha. We also need help to distribute these ads to the merchants in the surrounding neighborhood – mostly at the Shoppes at Fox Run and along Sunset Drive.

These Flyers help to inform the general public of one of our biggest fund raising events of the year. Come and donate a morning or afternoon of your time to make the Waukesha Cadets a huge success!

Sell tickets at front gate. Collect and hand out programs.

Help direct cars, buses, and equipment trucks to their designated area in the parking lot.  We also need people to enter the buses as they arrive to to welcome each school and give chaperones hand stamps.  If you like orange, join the parking crew – we have orange cones, orange flags, and new for the 2013-2014 season, orange safety vests!

Help feed hungry bands and their fans! We will be selling hot dogs, pizza, snacks, baked goods and drinks in two hour shifts throughout the event and need help with set up, clean up and serving at the concessions stand and our “side note” table.

Monitor access points into and out of the building.

Involves providing snacks and drinks to the judges during our competition, as well as providing and serving a meal to the judges and directors AFTER our event, during the directors’ critique session.  This meal is usually provided by Famous Dave’s.  The food needs to be picked up and set up in the cafeteria towards the end of the day. The snacks/drinks are taken from concessions, as needed, throughout the afternoon.  Hospitality usually wraps up about an hour after the competition ends.
