Marching Band Season Volunteer Information
Band Camp Meals
During Band Camp in August, we need volunteers to help serve lunch and clean up after.
Uniform Fitting and Distribution
Two evenings in August, we need volunteers to help distribute uniforms and check the fit.
Color Guard Sewing
We are looking for people to help us outfit our Color Guard with uniforms and flags. We have a need to for people to help cut, iron, sew, count, and clean. Sewing is done at school or at home. We have fun and also get a lot of work done. We do most of our work during band camp.
Truck Crew
We have a lot of large instruments and props for each show, that we haul to the competitions in a large trailer. On the day of a competition, we load this equipment into the truck after the band does its final run through at West. We then drive to the competition and unload the truck. When it’s time to perform, the crew hauls the props onto the field, and then gets a front row seat for the show! After the performance, we do everything in reverse. Volunteer for the whole season, or just certain performances, depending on your schedule. We can use all the hands we can get!
Superfans
Wear your Spiritwear and cheer for our Cadets! They love to hear the crowd roar!
Chaperones
We take 4 buses to each competition, and we need 2 parents to ride on each bus. Chaperones take roll call, and then get a free ride to the competition. Depending on need, chaperones may also help the truck crew with hauling equipment onto the field.
